History
I was born and raised in New Jersey, but when I was thirteen my family moved to Charleston, West Virginia. There I reached some semblance of intellectual maturity at George Washington High School. Since high school, I've had the fortune to study at Carnegie Mellon University where I've made it my personal goal to learn everything. I finished my undergraduate education in May 2004 with a heap of degrees, and I'm currently working towards my Masters degree in Computer Science.
Hobbies
When I was young, my favorite pastimes were curling up on the couch with a book and biking up and down the street. Sometimes it feels as if nothing's really changed since then, but really I've got quite a rich set of hobbies. I'm an avid outdoorsman, and I love hiking, camping, backpacking, caving, scuba diving, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing whenever the opportunity presents itself. Many of those activities require some quality driving time with my beloved car, and nothing can quite compare to a curvy road on a clear day with the music blasting and the windows wide open. On the other end of the spectrum, I can easily lose myself for days or weeks in the company of good book (or a good research paper!). Between the bugbites and the books, I also enjoy playing board games, or taking photographs, or pretending I'm a five year-old, or attending movies, plays, concerts or museums .
